Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by architect Frank Gehry, opened in October 2003 and serves as the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. The hall is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through the work of acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota. Its stainless steel exterior is a landmark of downtown Los Angeles, known for its flowing, sculptural forms. The building also houses the Roy and Norma Disney Hall, used for smaller performances and educational programs, along with a public garden and amphitheater. Construction was partially funded by a significant donation from Lillian Disney, Walt Disney’s widow, and represents a major cultural investment in the city.
