Reduta is a historic concert hall in Bratislava, situated within the Slovak National Theatre complex. Originally constructed as a military barracks hall in the 18th century during Maria Theresa’s reign, it underwent significant reconstruction in 1919-1920 following damage during World War I. The redesign by architect Dušan Jurkovič incorporated elements of Slovak folk art and Art Nouveau, giving it its distinctive character. It officially reopened as a concert venue in 1920 and has since hosted numerous prominent classical musicians and ensembles. The hall is noted for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere, seating approximately 640 people. Reduta remains a key cultural institution within Slovakia, dedicated to showcasing classical music performances.
