Filarmonica della Scala is the resident orchestra of Teatro alla Scala and one of Italy’s leading orchestras. Founded in 1919 by musicians from the Teatro alla Scala orchestra, it operates as an autonomous entity while maintaining a close artistic relationship with the opera house. Teatro alla Scala, inaugurated in 1778, is arguably the most famous opera house globally.
