Federspiel, an Austrian ensemble, will perform at the Tauberphilharmonie in Weikersheim, Germany on April 23, 2027. The group is known for its distinctive blend of traditional alpine folk music – particularly from the region of Upper Austria – with elements of jazz, funk, and contemporary classical music. Their instrumentation is notably unconventional, frequently incorporating instruments like the steirische harmonica, trumpet, trombone, tuba, drums and electric guitar. This creates a dynamic and energetic sound often described as “Balkan Beats” or “Alpine Power Pop.”

The Tauberphilharmonie Weikersheim is a concert hall situated within the historic Weikersheim Palace complex. Originally built as a baroque residence for the Counts of Hohenlohe, the palace was significantly renovated in the 1990s to include a modern concert hall designed by architect Erich Wiesner. The Tauberphilharmonie is recognized for its excellent acoustics and hosts a diverse program of classical music concerts, chamber music performances and other cultural events. It serves as a regional cultural hub and regularly welcomes nationally and internationally renowned artists. The hall’s design integrates seamlessly with the palace’s historical architecture.
