Fanfare Ciocărlia, a Romanian brass band internationally recognized for their high-energy performances, will be appearing at Summer Cinema At Špilberk in Brno, Czechia on August 7th, 2026. The band’s musical style is often described as “fanfare,” a uniquely Balkan brass tradition blending Roma influences with elements of Turkish, Serbian, and Bulgarian music. Characterized by rapid tempos, complex arrangements, and virtuosic improvisation, their sound is both celebratory and technically impressive. They gained prominence in the early 2000s, becoming widely known through collaborations and festival appearances across Europe and beyond.

Summer Cinema At Špilberk is an open-air cinema and concert venue located within the historic Špilberk Castle in Brno. The castle itself dates back to the 13th century and has served various purposes throughout its history – initially a royal castle, later a fortress, and then a notorious prison during the Habsburg era. The summer cinema component began in 2014, utilizing the castle’s courtyard as a unique setting for film screenings and live performances.
