Esperanza Spalding will perform at the Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC) in Beaver Creek, Colorado on September 17, 2026. Spalding is a Grammy Award-winning bassist, vocalist, and composer whose music defies easy categorization. It blends jazz with elements of soul, funk, Brazilian music, and classical influences, often incorporating complex harmonies and lyrical storytelling. Her work frequently explores themes of identity, spirituality, and community. She gained prominence after winning the 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist – the first bassist to receive the honor.

The Vilar Performing Arts Center opened in December 2002 as part of the Beaver Creek Resort Company’s commitment to cultural enrichment. Located in the heart of Beaver Creek Village, it’s a multi-purpose venue designed to host a diverse range of performances including concerts, dance recitals, theatrical productions, and film screenings. The VPAC boasts a proscenium stage and seating for approximately 575 patrons. It underwent a significant renovation and expansion completed in late 2019 which enhanced its technical capabilities and patron experience while maintaining its intimate atmosphere.
