Equinoxe, the musical project of French composer and producer Dominique Perret, will perform at Cinéma La Joliette in Marseille, France on July 16, 2026. Equinoxe’s music is largely characterized as electronic, drawing heavily from progressive rock and space music traditions. It frequently incorporates analog synthesizers and complex arrangements, evoking a cinematic and atmospheric quality reminiscent of 1970s electronic soundtracks. Perret previously gained recognition as a member of the French progressive rock band Magma during the 1970s and early 80s. The Equinoxe project began in the late 1970s with a series of instrumental albums that have since become influential within the electronic music scene.

Cinéma La Joliette is a cultural venue located in the heart of Marseille’s Vieux Port district. Originally constructed in 1926 as a Pathé cinema, it underwent significant renovation and reopened in 2019 following extensive work led by architect Jean Nouvel. The building now functions as a multi-purpose space hosting films, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events.
