Ensemble Correspondances is a French musical ensemble specializing in the historically informed performance of 17th and 18th-century French repertoire, particularly sacred music. Their approach focuses on reviving the dramatic and expressive qualities intended by composers of the era, utilizing period instruments and vocal techniques. The ensemble is known for its dynamic interpretations and research into the performance practices of composers like Charpentier and Lully.
The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert hall complex inaugurated in January 2015. Located in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, it is designed to be a universal space dedicated to all musical genres. The complex comprises two main halls: the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez, known for its adjustable acoustics and seating capacity of around 2,400; and the smaller Salle de Balcon, which accommodates approximately 500 people.
Philharmonie de Paris serves as the home base for the Orchestre de Paris and also hosts numerous visiting orchestras, ensembles, and soloists throughout the year.
