Elīna Garanča is a Latvian mezzo-soprano internationally recognized for her interpretations of bel canto, Romantic, and verismo repertoire. Her voice is noted for its rich timbre, dramatic intensity, and technical control, allowing her to perform roles across a wide range including those by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, and Tchaikovsky. She frequently appears in leading opera houses worldwide and is also a celebrated concert performer.

The venue for the concert is the Wolkenturm (Cloud Tower) at Grafenegg Castle in Austria. Constructed in the 13th century as part of the original castle fortifications, the Wolkenturm underwent extensive restoration beginning in 2009 to transform it into a unique open-air concert hall. The structure’s acoustic properties are highly regarded; its stone walls contribute to natural sound reflection while remaining open to the surrounding landscape.

Grafenegg Castle itself has a long history dating back to the 12th century, serving various aristocratic families over the centuries. The estate was acquired by the municipality of Grafenegg in 1998 and developed into a significant cultural center.
