Experience Doug Beavers live on August 29th
Doug Beavers will perform at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, Arizona on August 29, 2026. Beavers is a contemporary fingerstyle guitarist known for his intricate arrangements of jazz standards, original compositions, and explorations of extended-range guitar techniques. His playing often incorporates complex harmonies, percussive elements on the guitar body, and a distinctive melodic approach influenced by artists like Joe Pass and Chet Atkins, though distinctly his own. He frequently utilizes baritone guitars and altered tunings to achieve a full, orchestral sound from a single instrument.
The Musical Instrument Museum, which opened in 2010, is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the global history and diversity of musical instruments. Its collection comprises over 8,000 instruments and associated objects from more than 200 countries and territories. Exhibits are organized geographically, allowing visitors to explore how instruments reflect the cultures from which they originate. The museum features five main geographic galleries: Africa & Oceania, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. Beyond displays, MIM offers interactive exhibits and hosts performances showcasing music from around the world in its 300-seat concert hall.
