Destroyer, the musical project led by Dan Bejar, will perform at The Belfast Empire Music Hall on September 14, 2026. Destroyer’s sound is often described as art rock, incorporating elements of baroque pop, new wave, and lounge music. Bejar’s songwriting is characterized by complex lyrical arrangements, often employing stream-of-consciousness techniques and literary references, alongside sophisticated musical structures. The project has released numerous critically acclaimed albums since its formation in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1996.

The Belfast Empire Music Hall is a prominent live music venue located in Belfast city centre. Originally built in 1895 as a variety theatre, it underwent significant refurbishment and reopened as a music hall in 2018 after a period of closure. The building retains many of its original architectural features including ornate plasterwork and a proscenium arch stage. It hosts a diverse range of musical acts across various genres and has a capacity of approximately 1000 standing or 650 seated. The venue is known for its intimate atmosphere and strong acoustics contributing to its popularity with both performers and audiences alike.
