Destroyer, the musical project led by Dan Bejar, will perform at the Cla-Zel Theater in Bowling Green, Ohio on October 27, 2026. Destroyer’s music is generally categorized as art rock, often incorporating elements of baroque pop, new wave, and jazz. Bejar’s songwriting is known for its lyrical complexity, sophisticated arrangements, and his distinctive vocal delivery. The project has released numerous critically acclaimed albums since its formation in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1996, evolving through various stylistic phases while maintaining a consistent artistic vision.

The Cla-Zel Theater itself holds a significant place in Bowling Green’s cultural landscape. Originally opening in 1927 as a Vaudeville and movie palace named the Cla-zel (a portmanteau of owners Clarence and Zelma Zellers), it quickly became a central entertainment venue for the region. After periods of decline and closure throughout the latter half of the 20th century, a substantial restoration project was completed in 2018. The theater now functions as a multi-purpose performance space hosting concerts, theatrical productions, film screenings and community events.
