Deep Forest is scheduled to perform at Cinetol in Amsterdam, Netherlands on October 7, 2026. The musical project, initially formed in 1992 by Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet, is recognized for its pioneering work in world music and electronic dance music. Deep Forest blends electronic beats with field recordings of traditional ethnic music – particularly from Melanesia, Polynesia, and other remote regions – creating a unique atmospheric soundscape. Their early albums prominently featured sampled vocals and instrumentation from these cultures, often credited to the original performers. Over time, their style has evolved to incorporate more original compositions while maintaining a focus on global sounds and textures.

Cinetol is a former cinema located in Amsterdam-Noord, repurposed as a cultural venue. Originally opened in 1968 as a neighborhood cinema, it experienced periods of closure and renovation before being revived as an event space in 2018. The venue maintains much of its original architectural character, offering an intimate setting for performances. It now hosts a diverse program encompassing concerts, film screenings, exhibitions and other artistic events; frequently showcasing independent and experimental artists alongside established names.
