Deafheaven will perform at The Powerstation in Auckland, New Zealand on July 3rd, 2026. The band is recognized for their distinctive blend of black metal and shoegaze, often categorized as “blackgaze.” Their music incorporates elements of harsh vocals and tremolo-picked guitars characteristic of black metal alongside atmospheric textures, melodic passages, and post-rock influences commonly found in shoegaze. Formed in San Francisco, California in 2010, Deafheaven has released several critically acclaimed albums including *Sunbather* (2013) and *Ordinary Corrupt Human Being* (2018).

The Powerstation is a well-known live music venue located in central Auckland. Originally built as a diesel engine testing facility for the Auckland Electric Power Board in the 1930s, it was converted into a performance space in 1999. The building's industrial architecture contributes to its unique atmosphere. Throughout its history, The Powerstation has hosted a diverse range of international and local acts across various genres including rock, electronic, and alternative music.
