Deafheaven is scheduled to perform at The Pageant in St. Louis, Missouri on October 17, 2026. The band is recognized for pioneering a style often described as “blackgaze,” blending elements of black metal—characterized by its raw sound, tremolo picking, and often harsh vocals—with shoegaze’s atmospheric textures, melodic sensibilities, and use of reverb-drenched instrumentation. Formed in San Francisco, California in 2010, Deafheaven has released several critically acclaimed albums including *Sunbather* (2013) and *Ordinary Corrupt Human Being* (2018), gaining a substantial following within both metal and independent music circles.

The Pageant opened in 2012 and is a prominent mid-sized concert venue located in the Delmar Loop neighborhood of St. Louis. Originally built as a movie theatre in 1908 as part of the Brennon Theatre chain, it underwent extensive renovations to become a standing-room general admission venue with a capacity of approximately 2,200 people. The Pageant consistently hosts nationally and internationally touring musical acts across diverse genres, alongside occasional comedy performances and other events.
