Deafheaven is scheduled to perform at Rebel in Toronto, Canada on September 28, 2026. The band is generally categorized within the blackgaze genre, a fusion of black metal and shoegaze. Their music incorporates elements of both styles – harsh vocals and tremolo-picked guitars characteristic of black metal are often contrasted with atmospheric textures, melodic passages, and post-rock influenced dynamics reminiscent of shoegaze. Formed in San Francisco, California in 2010, Deafheaven gained prominence for their emotionally resonant albums and innovative approach to extreme metal.

Rebel is a large-capacity live music venue located in the West Queen West neighbourhood of Toronto. Opened in 2019, it occupies a repurposed warehouse space previously known as the Sound Academy. The venue boasts a capacity of approximately 4,500 attendees and features a flexible layout accommodating both standing general admission and seated arrangements. Rebel is owned by INK Entertainment, a Canadian entertainment company involved in venue operation, event promotion and artist management. It has quickly become a significant fixture in Toronto’s concert scene hosting national and international touring artists across diverse genres.
