Davina & The Vagabonds perform a blend of vintage jazz, blues, and Americana, often characterized by Davina Sowers’ powerful vocals and the band’s energetic stage presence. Their sound draws heavily from classic New Orleans rhythm and blues, incorporating elements of swing, jump blues, and torch song balladry. The group has released several albums to critical acclaim and toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
The Avalon Theatre in Easton, Maryland, originally opened in 1923 as a vaudeville house and silent film venue. Throughout its history, it served as a community entertainment hub, showcasing live performances and motion pictures. Following periods of decline and closure, the theatre underwent significant restoration efforts beginning in 2015 led by the Avalon Foundation.
The restored Avalon Theatre now functions as a performing arts center hosting a diverse range of events including concerts, films, theatrical productions, and community gatherings. It is designed in an Art Deco style with ornate architectural details reflecting the era of its original construction. The venue aims to serve both as a cultural asset for Easton and as a revitalized landmark within the downtown area. The theatre has a seating capacity of approximately 450 people.
