David J, known for his post-punk and gothic rock origins as a founding member of Bauhaus, will be performing at Temple House in New Orleans on July 31st, 2026. His solo work expands upon the atmospheric and often darkly poetic sound established with Bauhaus, incorporating elements of alternative rock, spoken word, and experimental music. He frequently utilizes layered instrumentation and introspective lyrical themes exploring themes of alienation, identity, and the human condition.

Temple House is a relatively new music venue located in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans. Opened in 2023, it occupies a building with roots dating back to the early 19th century, originally constructed as a social club. The venue has quickly become known for its intimate setting and focus on showcasing diverse musical genres including indie rock, alternative, and electronic music. It features exposed brick walls, high ceilings and a sound system designed for optimal acoustics within the space. Temple House aims to provide a platform for both established and emerging artists while preserving the historical character of the building itself.
