Colchester Arts Centre is a multi-arts venue housed within a former Victorian brewery building. Originally built in 1892 as the Colchester Brewery, it underwent significant conversion in the 1970s to become a dedicated arts space. The centre hosts a diverse programme including theatre, music, comedy, dance and visual arts exhibitions. It’s recognised for its intimate performance spaces and commitment to supporting both emerging and established artists. The building retains many original features of the brewery, contributing to its unique character. It operates as an independent charitable trust and serves as a key cultural hub for Colchester and the surrounding region. The venue has a capacity of approximately 240 seated or 350 standing.
