BürgerBahnhof Wuppertal is a former railway station building transformed into a cultural center. Originally opened in 1914 as part of the Wuppertal-Barmen railway line, it ceased operating as a station in the 1980s. Following a period of disuse, the building was renovated and reopened in 2002 as a venue hosting concerts, theatre productions, exhibitions and other cultural events. The space retains many original architectural features of its railway past, offering a unique atmosphere for performances. It's known for its intimate setting and diverse programming catering to various artistic disciplines. The venue is managed by the association “Initiative Bürgerbahnhof e.V.” which aims to promote cultural participation within the community.
