His style blends traditional jazz foundations with influences from classical music, particularly Debussy and Ravel, and incorporates elements of Italian melodicism. He’s known for his “jazz senza confini” (jazz without borders) approach, often performing solo piano concerts characterized by spontaneous composition and a deeply emotive quality. Rea frequently draws inspiration from literature and poetry, integrating thematic narratives into his performances.

The concert will take place at the Chiostro di San Domenico in Prato, Italy. This cloister is a significant historical and architectural landmark, forming part of the former Dominican convent of San Domenico. Founded in the 13th century, the complex played a crucial role in Prato’s religious and cultural life for centuries. The cloister itself dates primarily to the 14th and 15th centuries, exhibiting Gothic architectural features including pointed arches and ribbed vaults. Following periods of various uses – including as a hospital and barracks – extensive restoration work has preserved its original structure while adapting it for cultural events.
