The Dixon, located in Garden City, is a historic estate transformed into a museum and cultural center. Originally built in 1918 as the home of Guggenheim family member Harry Guggenheim and his wife Caroline Morton, the property features a Gold Coast mansion designed in the Beaux-Arts style. The estate encompasses over 19 acres of gardens and grounds, offering a unique backdrop for events. Following its acquisition by Nassau County in 1990, it underwent extensive restoration to preserve its architectural significance. Today, The Dixon hosts exhibitions focusing on art, design, and Long Island history, alongside various performances and public programs within its restored spaces.
