Cortex is scheduled to perform at the Moore Theater in Seattle, Washington on September 13, 2026. Cortex, the musical project of Brian Eno’s nephew, creates ambient and generative music, often described as “digital pastoral.” His compositions frequently utilize algorithms and systems-based approaches to produce evolving soundscapes; blending elements of electronic, classical, and ambient genres. Releases are typically characterized by long-form pieces and a focus on texture and atmosphere rather than traditional song structures.

The Moore Theater originally opened in 1907 as a trolley barn before being converted into a vaudeville house known as the Colonnade. It underwent several name changes – including the Metropolitan Theatre – and served as a venue for various performances including film screenings and stage shows. In 1998 it was renovated and reopened as the Moore Theater, focusing on live music, comedy, and theatrical productions.

The venue is recognized for its intimate setting and ornate architectural details reflective of its early 20th-century origins. It has a capacity of approximately 1,800 people and maintains its historical character while accommodating modern performances. The Moore Theater is currently owned by AEG Live and operated by Showbox Presents.
