Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, located in downtown Houston, Texas, serves as the primary performance venue for the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera, and Houston Ballet. Completed in 1966, the hall was designed by architects Caudill Rowlett Scott, and is noted for its acoustical design which has undergone several refinements over the years to optimize sound quality. The building itself is an example of modern architecture with a distinctive brown brick exterior. It has hosted a wide range of performances beyond its resident companies including Broadway shows, popular music concerts and various other events contributing to Houston’s cultural scene for over five decades. The hall has a seating capacity of approximately 2,914.
