The Ojai Valley Historical Museum & Library, Inc., established in 1964, serves as a repository for artifacts and documents pertaining to the history of the Ojai Valley in California. Located in a building originally constructed in 1909 as the Matilija Street Schoolhouse, the museum focuses on preserving and interpreting the cultural heritage of the region – encompassing the Chumash people’s history alongside that of early European settlers and subsequent agricultural development. The museum’s collection includes photographs, manuscripts, tools, furniture and decorative arts related to local ranching families, artists who lived in Ojai (like Beatrice Wood), and the area's unique spiritual history.
