Christuskirche (Christ Church) is a Neo-Gothic church completed in 1889-1890, designed by architect Julius Raschdorff who later became known for his work on the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin. Built as a Protestant church for the growing population of Bochum during the industrial revolution, it sustained significant damage during Allied bombing raids in World War II. Subsequent reconstruction between 1946 and 1952 largely restored the church to its original appearance, though some interior elements were modernized. The church possesses notable stained glass windows and an organ built by Emil Kummer & Co., dating from 1905 and subsequently renovated.
