Experience Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah live on July 1st

Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah will perform at Théâtre Maisonneuve, part of Théâtre Jean-Duceppe, located in Montreal, Canada on July 1st, 2026. Adjuah, formerly known as Xian Albrecht, is a percussionist and composer whose work blends elements of jazz, hip-hop, and West African musical traditions – particularly those of the Ewe people of Ghana. His compositions frequently feature the gyil (a Ghanaian xylophone) alongside trap drum sets and electronic elements, creating a unique sonic landscape. He is known for his rhythmic complexity and exploration of cultural heritage through music.

Théâtre Maisonneuve is the larger of the two performance spaces within the Théâtre Jean-Duceppe complex. Opened in 1995, it’s designed to accommodate a wide range of performances including theatre, dance and concerts. The building itself forms part of Place des Arts, Montreal’s largest performing arts complex. Théâtre Jean-Duceppe was founded in 1940 by Jean Duceppe and initially focused on presenting French-language theatre; it has since expanded its repertoire.
