Casiopea is a highly influential Japanese instrumental fusion band, active since 1976. Their music blends elements of jazz, funk, rock, and electronic soundscapes, characterized by complex arrangements, virtuosic musicianship, and a prominent use of synthesizers and electric instruments. Throughout their career, they’ve released over 30 studio albums and are considered pioneers in the Asian fusion scene, impacting numerous musicians globally. The group has experienced several lineup changes but maintains a dedicated international fanbase.
The Wiltern, located in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, is a historic Art Deco theatre originally opened in 1931 as a movie palace. Designed by architect William H. Corlett, it's renowned for its striking geometric facade and ornate interior detailing. Initially a Warner Bros. cinema showcasing both films and live stage shows, The Wiltern underwent periods of decline and restoration before being revitalized as a premier concert venue in the 1980s.
Today, The Wiltern is operated by Live Nation and hosts a diverse range of performances including concerts, Broadway shows and other live events.
