CARRTOONS will perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 7th, 2026. The group is a Finnish duo creating music often described as “cartoon jazz,” blending elements of lo-fi hip-hop, jazz improvisation, and electronic soundscapes. Their compositions frequently feature playful melodies, vintage samples, and a distinctive, relaxed groove. They gained prominence through their self-released tracks and have built a following for their unique sonic aesthetic.

The Montreux Jazz Festival, established in 1967, is an internationally renowned music festival held annually in Montreux, Switzerland. Originally focused on jazz, it has broadened its scope over the decades to include diverse genres like rock, pop, blues, and electronic music. The festival is celebrated for its intimate atmosphere and history of showcasing both established artists and emerging talents.

The festival’s venue is primarily the Montreux Casino; however performances also occur in other locations throughout the town. Throughout its history, the festival has hosted iconic performances that have been recorded and released as live albums – notably Miles Davis’ *Live at Montreux* (1974) – contributing to its legacy within music history.
