Caity Gyorgy is a Canadian composer and violinist whose work blends contemporary classical music with elements of folk and improvisation. Her compositions often feature extended techniques for string instruments, exploring microtonality and unconventional harmonic structures. The Meridian Arts Centre: George Weston, located in North York, Toronto, opened in 2003. It functions as a multi-disciplinary cultural hub for the city, hosting performances encompassing theatre, dance, music, and spoken word. The venue’s largest space, the George Weston Theatre – where Caity Gyorgy is scheduled to perform – boasts 528 seats and is designed to accommodate a wide range of artistic presentations. Prior to becoming the Meridian Arts Centre it was originally part of the North York Civic Centre complex.
