Butter Funk Family is a Czech funk band known for blending traditional funk and soul elements with influences from jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music. Formed in 2010, the group features a large ensemble of musicians including a horn section, guitar, bass, drums, vocals and often incorporates percussion and keyboard instruments. Their sound is characterized by energetic live performances and a focus on improvisation. They have released several albums and regularly tour throughout Europe.

Cross Club, the venue hosting the performance, is a long-standing music club in Prague, Czechia. Established in 1991, it’s situated in a former brewery cellar and has become known for its distinctive steampunk-inspired interior design featuring metalwork and industrial aesthetics created by artist David Černý. The club primarily focuses on live music, showcasing genres including rock, metal, punk, reggae, dub and electronic music. It also frequently hosts alternative cultural events and art installations. Cross Club operates as a self-managed cultural space with an emphasis on artistic freedom & independence within Prague's nightlife scene. It's capacity is approximately 600 people.
