Castell Deudraeth is a neo-medieval castle constructed between 1997 and 1999, designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect also responsible for the overall design of Portmeirion. It wasn’t built as a historical restoration but rather as a purpose-built structure intended to complement the architectural style of the village. The castle functions primarily as a residential conference and events centre owned by a hotel group; it's not historically significant in the same way as traditional Welsh castles. Its architecture incorporates elements reminiscent of North Wales castles but utilizes modern construction techniques.
