Flagey - Studio 1 is a renowned concert hall located within the larger Flagey cultural center in Brussels. Originally constructed as the Maison de la Radio – the broadcasting house for Belgian National Radio – in the 1930s, the building exemplifies modernist architecture. Studio 1, specifically, was designed with acoustic excellence in mind for radio broadcasting purposes. Following renovations completed in 2002, Flagey reopened as a multi-disciplinary arts complex while retaining Studio 1’s original function as a primary performance space.

The hall is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, making it a favored venue for orchestral performances, chamber music, and recordings. Its design features include a shoebox shape conducive to natural sound projection and carefully considered materials to enhance sonic clarity. The space retains elements of its broadcasting history, contributing to its unique atmosphere.
