Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers will perform at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland on July 29, 2026. The band is known for a musical style blending piano-driven rock, jazz improvisation, bluegrass elements, and sophisticated harmonic structures. Emerging in the mid-1980s, Hornsby’s work often features narrative songwriting alongside extended instrumental jams, showcasing the band’s considerable musicianship. Their 1986 hit “The Way It Is” remains their most commercially successful song, but they have consistently pursued a diverse and evolving sound throughout their career.

The Music Center at Strathmore opened in 2003 and serves as a multi-disciplinary arts center for Montgomery County, Maryland. It comprises two venues: the Concert Hall, designed to resemble a European concert hall with exceptional acoustics, and the smaller Mansion at Strathmore, a restored historic estate. The center hosts a wide range of performances including classical music, jazz, contemporary music, dance, and theater. Strathmore is also home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s summer home and frequently presents nationally and internationally touring artists.
