Jazzklubben Nefertiti holds a significant place in Swedish jazz history. Founded in 1963, it initially operated as a student club at Chalmers University of Technology before establishing itself as a dedicated jazz venue in Gothenburg. The club became particularly renowned during the 1960s and 70s for hosting international jazz luminaries and fostering a vibrant local scene. Following periods of closure and relocation, Nefertiti reopened in 2016 at its current location on Viktoriagatan, continuing its tradition of presenting both established and emerging jazz artists. The venue is known for its intimate atmosphere and commitment to showcasing a diverse range of jazz expressions. It remains an important cultural institution within Gothenburg's music landscape.
