The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts opened in Greensboro, North Carolina in February 2019 following a public-private partnership aimed at revitalizing the city’s downtown area. The center is housed within the renovated historic First National Bank building, preserving significant architectural details while incorporating modern performance spaces. It boasts a 2,300-seat main theater designed for Broadway shows, concerts, and other large-scale events; a smaller flexible studio theater; and various event spaces. The Tanger Center aims to serve as a cultural hub for the Piedmont Triad region by hosting diverse programming including touring productions, local performances, and community events.
