Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform at Portsmouth Guildhall on February 25, 2027. The BSO is recognised as one of the UK’s leading symphony orchestras, with a repertoire spanning over 130 years. Historically, the orchestra has been noted for its championing of British composers, particularly those associated with the English pastoral tradition, alongside core classical and romantic works. Contemporary music also features prominently in their programming.

Portsmouth Guildhall opened in 1890, designed by local architect Owen Parsons. It was originally conceived as a public hall for civic events and entertainment, quickly becoming a significant venue for concerts and performances in the city. Throughout its history, the Guildhall has hosted a diverse range of acts – from classical ensembles to popular musicians – and continues to serve as a key cultural hub for Portsmouth and the surrounding area. The building underwent substantial refurbishment completed in 2021, enhancing its facilities while retaining many original architectural features. It is a Grade II listed building recognized for its historical and architectural importance. The hall's acoustics are considered well-suited to orchestral performances.
