Portsmouth Guildhall, the venue for the October 29th, 2026 concert, holds significant historical and architectural importance within the city. Originally built in 1879 as the Portsmouth Town Hall, it was extensively remodelled following damage during World War II and reopened as a dedicated performance venue in 1985. The building showcases Victorian Gothic Revival architecture and features a prominent clock tower.
Throughout its history, Portsmouth Guildhall has hosted a diverse array of events including political rallies, concerts, theatrical productions and civic ceremonies. It’s main hall offers a capacity suitable for large orchestral performances and maintains an ongoing programme of music, comedy and other live entertainment contributing to Portsmouth’s cultural landscape. The hall underwent further refurbishment in recent years to enhance its facilities for both performers and audiences.
