Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform at Hall for Cornwall in Truro on September 18, 2026. Hall for Cornwall underwent a significant £25 million redevelopment, reopening in 2021 after a period of closure. The building itself has a complex history; originally built as the Cornish Assembly Rooms in 1879, it was designed by Silvanus Tregelles and served as a venue for various civic and social events. It later became known as the City Hall before being rebranded as Hall for Cornwall. The current iteration retains many original architectural features alongside modern facilities, aiming to serve as a cultural hub for Cornwall. The venue hosts a diverse programme encompassing theatre, dance, music and community events. Its acoustics have been significantly improved following the renovations to support performances like this orchestral concert.
