Black Country, New Road is a British post-punk band formed in Cambridge in 2018. Their music is characterized by dynamic shifts in instrumentation, spoken-word vocals, and influences ranging from jazz and classical to rock and experimental music. Initially gaining attention for their lengthy, complex compositions, the band’s sound evolved following lineup changes, incorporating more direct song structures while retaining their distinctive emotional intensity and lyrical focus on personal and societal anxieties. They have released three studio albums to date: *For the First Time* (2019), *Ants From Up There* (2022), and *Chlorine* (2024).

Variety Playhouse, located in Atlanta’s Little Five Points neighborhood, opened in 1950 as a movie theatre. Throughout the 1970s it transitioned into a live music venue, hosting a diverse range of artists including The Ramones and Patti Smith. The building underwent renovations in the early 2000s to improve acoustics and accessibility while preserving its historic character. It currently operates as a standing-room general admission venue with a capacity of approximately 1,000 people, known for its intimate atmosphere and strong sightlines.
