Black Country, New Road is a British post-punk band formed in Cambridge in 2018. Their music is characterized by experimental arrangements, incorporating elements of jazz, classical, and spoken word alongside traditional rock instrumentation. Initial releases featured Isaac Wood as vocalist and primary lyricist; following his departure in 2022, the band continued with a shifting vocal dynamic amongst remaining members. They are known for lengthy, complex compositions and emotionally charged performances. Their discography includes albums *For the First Time* (2021), *Ants From Up There* (2022), and *Nomad* (2024).
The Orange Peel in Knoxville, Tennessee, opened in 2003 after extensive renovations to a former warehouse. The venue quickly gained prominence as a nationally recognized live music space, hosting a diverse range of artists across genres including rock, indie, country, and electronic music. Its relatively intimate capacity – approximately 950 standing or 650 seated – contributes to its reputation for energetic shows and close artist-audience interaction. The building itself is listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to its architectural significance within Knoxville’s industrial history.
