Björn Meyer, a Swiss composer and musician, will perform at Paquis Central in Valeyres-sous-Ursins on July 28, 2026. Paquis Central is a unique venue located within the grounds of the former psychiatric hospital of Valeyres-sous-Ursins. The hospital, established in 1913, operated until 1991 and holds a significant place in Swiss social history due to its progressive approach to psychiatric care during much of its existence, contrasting with prevailing methods of the time. Following the hospital’s closure, the site underwent repurposing; Paquis Central emerged as a cultural space dedicated to artistic experimentation and multidisciplinary projects. It retains architectural features of the original institution, offering an unconventional setting for performances. The space hosts a variety of events including concerts, exhibitions, workshops and residencies, emphasizing inclusivity and community engagement.
