Biréli Lagrène is a French jazz guitarist renowned for his exceptional technique and stylistic versatility. Initially celebrated for his astonishing Django Reinhardt-inspired “gypsy jazz” playing in the 1980s – often incorporating elements of bebop – Lagrène’s musical explorations have since broadened to encompass straight-ahead jazz, electric fusion, and even classical influences. He is known for his rapid, fluid playing and improvisational skills.
Théâtre Robinson, located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule on the French Riviera, is a performance venue with a history rooted in the cultural life of the region. Originally constructed as a cinema in the 1930s, it underwent significant renovations in the early 2000s to transform it into a multi-purpose theatre space. The venue now hosts a diverse program of performances including theatre productions, dance recitals, concerts and film screenings. It is designed with a focus on acoustics and intimate audience experience, seating approximately 700 people. The theatre regularly features national and international artists and contributes significantly to the artistic programming of the Mandelieu-la-Napoule municipality.
