Bill Laurance will perform at Siamsa Tíre, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland, in Tralee, County Kerry on October 25th, 2026. Laurance is a pianist and composer known for his work within the contemporary jazz and instrumental music scenes. His style blends elements of jazz harmony with influences from electronic music, neo-soul, and world music traditions. He gained prominence as a founding member of the critically acclaimed Snarky Puppy, contributing significantly to their compositions and arrangements. Beyond his work with the collective, Laurance has released several solo albums showcasing his distinctive compositional voice and improvisational skills.
Siamsa Tíre opened in 1974 and serves as Ireland’s national folk theatre. It is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional arts, including music, dance, storytelling and drama. The venue uniquely combines a theatre space with exhibition areas dedicated to Irish heritage crafts. Originally conceived as a response to the decline of traditional Irish arts in the mid-20th century, it aims to provide a platform for both established and emerging artists working within these traditions while also presenting diverse performing arts events. The building itself incorporates architectural features reflecting traditional Irish farm buildings.
