Campo Solar is a unique venue located in Damme, a historic town in West Flanders. Originally a farmstead, it was transformed in the 1980s by artist couple Jacques Lizin and Wannes Van den Broeck into a centre for contemporary art and music. The site features an outdoor stage built around a large solar panel installation – hence the name “Campo Solar” (Solar Field) – intended to power the venue’s sound system and lighting. It is known for its intimate atmosphere and focus on showcasing innovative artistic practices, particularly those engaging with environmental concerns or utilising unconventional performance spaces. Throughout its history, Campo Solar has hosted numerous notable artists across various disciplines.
