Ben Williams is a contemporary jazz bassist and composer recognized for his virtuosic technique and genre-bending approach. His music blends elements of jazz, funk, R&B, and hip-hop, often featuring complex arrangements and improvisational sections. Williams gained prominence after winning the 2009 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition and has since released several critically acclaimed albums, collaborating with artists across diverse musical landscapes. He is known for leading his own ensembles and for his work as a sideman with prominent musicians.
Rodney Square is a public square located in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Designated a historic district by the National Park Service in 1977, it’s centered around the Hotel du Pont, originally built as a headquarters for the DuPont company in 1913. The square itself was formally established in the early 20th century following the demolition of earlier structures and has served as a focal point for civic gatherings, events, and performances since its creation. Its design incorporates formal gardens and architectural features reflecting the Beaux-Arts style prevalent during its development.
