Bar italia, a British post-punk band formed in 2019, will be performing at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Canada on August 1st, 2026. The group’s sound is characterized by lo-fi aesthetics, intertwining guitar work, and often spoken-word or declamatory vocals, drawing comparisons to bands like The Fall and early Factory Records artists. Their music frequently explores themes of everyday life and alienation with a distinctly British sensibility. They have released several EPs and albums to critical acclaim, gaining recognition for their unique approach to guitar-based music.

Parc Jean-Drapeau is a large urban park located on two islands – Île Sainte-Hélène and Île Notre-Dame – in the Saint Lawrence River, east of Old Montreal. Originally created for Expo 67, the park has since become a major venue for cultural and sporting events. Île Sainte-Hélène historically served as a military site before being transformed for the World’s Fair; it currently houses La Ronde amusement park and the Biosphere environmental museum. Île Notre-Dame was entirely constructed for Expo 67 using fill from the Montreal Metro excavation.
