Arm's Length is scheduled to perform at The Broom Factory in Kingston, Ontario on July 8, 2026. The band creates music generally described as post-punk and art-rock, often incorporating elements of jazz and experimental soundscapes. Their compositions are characterized by complex arrangements, dynamic shifts in tempo and mood, and introspective lyrical content. Formed in Toronto, they have released several EPs and albums to critical acclaim within independent music circles.
The Broom Factory is a historic building located in Kingston’s industrial district, originally constructed in 1917 as the home of the E. & W. Gilmour Company, a manufacturer of brooms, brushes and mops. The factory ceased broom production in 1968 and subsequently underwent periods of disuse before being repurposed as a multi-use arts and events venue.
Today, The Broom Factory functions as a space for live music performances, art exhibitions, theatre productions and private events. It retains much of its original industrial architecture, including exposed brick walls and high ceilings which contribute to its unique atmosphere. The venue is known for hosting both established and emerging artists across various genres with a focus on fostering local arts culture.
