Buffa’s Bar & Restaurant in New Orleans has a long history as a live music venue, opening its doors in 1981. Founded by Benny Buffa, a New Orleans jazz clarinetist and singer, the establishment initially aimed to provide a space for traditional New Orleans jazz musicians. Over time, while maintaining a commitment to local music, Buffa's programming expanded to include blues, folk, and other genres. The venue is noted for its intimate atmosphere and dedication to showcasing Louisiana-based artists. It’s located on Esplanade Avenue in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. The building itself dates back to the early 20th century and retains much of its original architectural character. Buffa's continues to operate as a family-owned business committed to preserving New Orleans’ musical heritage.
