Faversham Assembly Rooms is a Grade II listed building with a history dating back to 1734. Originally constructed as a music hall for the local gentry, it served as a venue for assemblies – social gatherings featuring dancing and entertainment – hence its name. Throughout the 19th century it hosted balls, concerts and theatrical performances.

Following periods of decline and use for various purposes including storage and wartime activities, the building underwent significant restoration in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Today, it functions as a multi-purpose arts venue hosting a diverse programme of events including live music, theatre, film screenings and community activities. The main hall retains many original features including its ornate plasterwork and gallery.
